JSG assumed property management responsibilities of a multi-tenant commercial space that had existing but outdated video surveillance and access control systems. The property manager sought to upgrade the security system but needed a security integrator who could advise not only on the best technology solution but who could provide the training & service required to provide the best value and continuity for their tenants.

Minimizing tenant disruption and maximizing end-user satisfaction were the primary objectives for JSG and they knew that an effective transition to an upgraded security platform would have to be handled by an experienced & customer-focused integrator. scDataCom was a natural choice and the Savannah-based security integrator happily accepted the challenge. scDataCom performed a full audit of the existing security infrastructure with JSG and designed a unified security platform that would improve the security posture and end-user experience for building occupants & visitors. The new security solution included five Axis M3116-LVE mini-dome cameras that were installed at strategic interior locations in order to monitor the building hallways and entrances. The Axis M3116-LVE is an affordable, flat-faced dome that offers 4MP video and an excellent wide-angle view- this compact and discreet camera includes IR illumination for sharp video even in challenging light or complete darkness. For perimeter protection, scDataCom chose an Axis P3719-PLE, which is a 15MP, 360-degree camera with flexible positioning and a single IP address. This device was mounted on an exterior corner of the building’s high traffic entrance, which allowed improved security on two entrances with a single device.

JSG also needed an integrated access control system and the Openpath solution was the best to meet this location’s needs. This solution allowed for JSG’s property manager to use the remote unlock capabilities and real-time reports available on their phone or computer to control access to the premise, triage tenant issues, support and staff events, and provide reporting to asset management.
